Also, if you are having trouble spawning the Zodiac Spear chest in the Henne Mines I suggest you first find out what model PS2 you have. You’ll find the number on the back of the outer casing. It’s an SCPH number. Once you know that go to the thread linked below and the first post will tell you what to do if your PS2 model number is listed. Unfortunately I don’t have every model listed and I rely on people to tell me what their model number is and how many times they hit themself to spawn the chest so that I can update the list. There is also quite a bit more info in the thread that you might want to read up on.

To get that gate …
To get that gate open you need to complete the Mindflayer hunt and also defeat 10 Espers. After that you need to speak to Geomancer Yugelu in Jahara to get the gate opened. By the time you’ve done that you should be strong enough to enter there.

I finally got the Zodiac spear after like 50 tries usig the method and it happen on one of my worst runs through the Henne mines. I hit myself twice then got hit by the bats like four or five times
and it was a no brainer after 78 hits bam 5 hitter. This was just after I turned the game on.
